Skincare can be a complete minefield – whether you’re new to the notion of applying products or have spent years looking for the perfect formula or daily routine. Most advice is tailored depending on your specific situation – meaning there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’, easy to implement route to follow when it comes to taking care of your skin. Until now that is – because at Nefera we believe looking after your complexion and protecting it for the future should be simple. Often when things appear to be complicated we avoid them – but this can have catastrophic consequences for your skin. Here we share the four key products your skin shouldn’t go without – to help you get started with a regime you can stick to with one foot firmly in the right direction.
Exfoliator
When dead skin cells build up on the surface of the skin it can appear dull, dry and flaky. Although this isn’t a daily step to be performed in your skincare regime, it is an important one. Choose a natural exfoliator that isn’t too abrasive – a physical product (with naturally derived grains to scrub away dead skin) is better than a chemical product at home.
Serum
Serum is the product you apply following moisturiser, usually at night, for added active ingredients which supercharge your skincare regime – whether you are fighting blemishes, soothing sensitive skin or combatting the signs of ageing. Serums are normally suitable for layering – so you can apply pre- or post-moisturiser (depending on the brand) for smoother, brighter, glowing skin. Our serum contains high concentrations of our unique Nefera peptide to accelerate skin rejuvenation and renewal.
Moisturiser
Moisturised skin stays younger for longer – and looks brighter and healthier, too. Choose a moisturiser with added benefits that works with your skin’s natural biological rhythm, as this will ensure you’re not at risk of untimely breakouts or insufficient hydration throughout the day. Where possible purchase two moisturisers – one for daily use, and one for the night. The moisturiser for evening application will likely be a little richer and thicker, which will tap into the body’s natural healing processes during sleep to repair and rejuvenate the skin.
Cleanser
Properly cleansing skin is an important step in your daily routine – since build-up of dirt and pollution can cause damage or breakouts and blemishes. Choose a natural, water-soluble formula without soap – which is acidic and could imbalance your skin’s natural pH level. Be guided by your unique skin type and primary concern – for example, do you want to minimise oil, or infuse intense hydration that lasts all day?
